How do I book a charter?

Do you offer split charters?

We do not offer split charters.

Are the prices listed per person or per boat?

Per boat. Our trips are the same price whether it is just you or up to 3 in your party. There is a $50 additional charge for a 4th person.

How much of a deposit is required?

We require a $50 deposit for the Inshore Charter and $100 deposit for the Tarpon and Nearshore Charters.

What forms of payment are available when booking a charter?

We accept cash, credit cards and debit cards.

What is your cancellation policy?

We need a 7 day notice in advance of the date of your charter for a full refund of your deposit.

What should I bring?

Please bring sunblock, long sleeve clothing, a hat, polarized sunglasses, drinks and snacks. Water and ice will be provided.

Can I bring alcohol?

Alcohol is permitted for guests age 21 and over.

Should I worry about motion sickness?

When you are on the ocean it is always a possibility. Try to avoid foods or alcohol that may upset your stomach. Many choose to take Dramamine the night before and morning of a charter.

What is a customary gratuity for a fishing charter?

If you have a hard working captain, 20% is appropriate.

Do I need a fishing license?

We have a blanket fishing license that covers all of the guests.

Is smoking allowed on the charters?

Yes, smoking is permitted for guests age 21 and over.

What is the best length for a fishing charter?

In general, for entry-level anglers 4 to 5 hours is commonly requested and for the more experienced, 6 – 8 hours.

How do we know if a charter is cancelled due to weather?

Typically charters do not cancel because of rain. However if Captain Austin believes it is necessary to cancel due to non-safe weather conditions, you will be notified and your charter will be rebooked at the earliest convenience to both parties. If rebooking is not possible, your deposit will be fully refunded.

Where will you pick us up for the charter?

I have many locations in the Boca Grande and Charlotte Harbor area for pick up. We will find a location that best suits you.
